Tonbridge Angels manager Tommy Warrilow has vowed not to quit Longmead after enduring his worst week of the season.

Tonbridge have conceded 11 goals in two defeats against sides around them in the Skrill South relegation dogfight, crashing 7-0 at Boreham Wood on Saturday - with two players sent off - before going down 4-2 at home to Maidenhead on Tuesday night.

Those results have left them three points from safety with only seven weeks of the season left. It’s been a nightmare seven days for Warrilow but he’s going nowhere.

He said: “If I walk away now, for me, that’s too easy. I’ve got a fight on my hands. Brilliant. Bring it on. I’ve got to instil that into my players.

“If I walked out now, I wouldn’t be able to look at myself in the mirror. I would never do that. Results haven’t been good but I’m still an optimist.

“The most important thing is to maintain our Conference South status and then look at it at the end of the season. It’s not about me, it’s about the football club.

“I’m contracted until the end of the season. At the moment I’m not going to be flavour of the month because of our results but hopefully we can turn it around."

Angels host Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday. Ryan Watts, Jon Heath, Tom Collins and Michael Bakare could all be available.
