They beat Bromley 2-0 and Southend 1-0 in the southern finals at Slough on Tuesday to book their place at Wembley on Saturday, May 13 - the day of the National League promotion final.

The road to Wembley began at the Gallagher Stadium in February when Palace Wood won the Stones Community Trust Mini World Cup.

They went on to finish runners-up at the south-east tournament before this week’s success in the southern finals.

Mike Cogger, a trustee of the Stones Community Trust, said: “Many congratulations to the girls. They did us proud.

“They were superb at the Maidstone Mini World Cup event and have shown real character and determination at the two regional heats.

“We can’t wait to see them play at Wembley next month and wish them every success.”

Maidstone are the cup holders following Allington Primary School's success at Solihull Moors’ ground last summer.

Palace Wood are guests of the Stones today when George Elokobi’s side meet Notts County in their final home game of the season.

The girls will do a lap of the pitch at half-time.
