THE opening day of Maidstone Cricket Week was in danger of being wiped out by rain at The Mote where heavy showers restricted chances of play before lunch.
Players from Kent and Warwickshire remained in the pavilion as showers continued to fall over the county town leaving old wickets ends and the outfield awash. Match umpires Michael Harris and John Holder agreed to inspect the conditions once the rain stopped
