Goalkeeper Lee Worgan is already showing his class in a Maidstone shirt.
The summer signing from Tonbridge made several saves against an impressive Luton Town side on Tuesday night.
United boss Jay Saunders said: “Someone said to me having Worgs in goal is worth 12 points a season.
“Whether that’s true or not I don’t know but he’s certainly shown what he’s capable of.
“He also has good players in front of him in Steve Watt and Jerrome Sobers.”
Maidstone lost the game 2-0 at the Gallagher Stadium with the The Skrill Premier – new name for the Conference Premier – side scoring through Jake Woolley and Matt Robinson.
Saunders said: “We played some good stuff but we looked a bit tired. The lads are fit but it takes its toll playing Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday during pre-season.
“We looked good in spells but dropped off in others. Luton are full-time and that showed with their fitness and organisation at set-pieces."
