£10,000 reward offered by Crimestoppers in bid to solve Sevenoaks £2m jewellery burglary near Wildernesse Golf Club

A £10,000 reward has been offered for key information leading to the conviction of a “violent” burglar.
It comes after police were called to a house near Wildernesse Golf Club in Sevenoaks where it is alleged a woman was threatened at gunpoint before at least 50 pieces of jewellery worth almost £2 million were stolen.
A man entered her home at around 3.55pm on June 21 where she was then assaulted and struck on the head with the weapon.
Now, the Crimestoppers charity, which gives people the opportunity to pass on information anonymously, is supporting the investigation by offering a reward for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible.
Crimestoppers chief Mark Hallas said: “This was a shocking burglary that used violence and intimidation. Those involved could strike again.
“There will be people who know more about what happened but may be unwilling to come forward.
“A woman was attacked, and property stolen. If you’re unwilling to contact the police, then our charity can help.”
As part of the investigation, on June 29 police released images showing a cyclist wearing a baseball cap and mask while riding a bike with a high-vis jacket on and appealed for help to identify the man.
Following this, the police released further imagery, including CCTV footage, of the man travelling on a number of trains on the day.
He was first spotted between Staplehurst and Sevenoaks at 9.48am to 10.26am on the day of the alleged offence.
After it had taken place, the same man was seen taking the train between Hildenborough, Tonbridge and Marden between 5.37pm and 6.02pm. He was then witnessed cycling in Staplehurst shortly after 6pm.
Again, he was wearing a face mask, cream-coloured baseball cap and trainers with distinctive red soles, but without the high-vis jacket when getting on and off the train.
Items reported stolen include rings, pendants and watches and anyone who may have been offered them for sale is being urged to phone police.
Detective Inspector Maxine Harris said: “Whilst it is possible the man has strong connections to the Staplehurst area, we are not discounting that he may live outside of Kent. He should not be approached.”
