Looking for love: a one-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier-cross, brunette, brown eyes, big personality. Seeking: a dog-lover with big heart who likes cuddles and long walks in the park.

After 188 days in kennels, RSPCA staff at the charity’s Leybourne Animal Centre, in Castle Way, are trying to find the paw-fect match for Skye this Valentine’s Day.

The sweet Staffie-cross, who was rescued by the RSPCA after being abandoned in Dover, has love on the brain and is hoping she will find her fur-ever home this February 14.

Animal care assistant at Mel Dolling said: “Skye is such a sweetheart and has the most beautiful brown eyes. She has won the hearts of all the staff and volunteers and we’re desperate to find her paw-fect match this Valentine’s Day.

“Unfortunately, she’s really not coping well in kennels as she finds it quite overwhelming being around so many other dogs so we’re desperately trying to find her a home to call her own.

“She will make one lucky person the most wonderful pet and we really hope she finds her Valentine this February.”

One-year-old Skye is very active and is keen to experience new things and learn new tricks. She’s always on the go and would love to meet someone who would like to try agility or flyball.

She’ll need long walks and lots of stimulation as she’s very active and intelligent, and she always loves fuss and attention so will make a very loving companion.

Skye would like to be the only animal in the home, and would be fine with children of secondary school age or older.

She'll need some time to learn that it’s okay being left alone and would benefit from some training.
