Passengers faced slower services this afternoon after a man in his 20s climbed a lamppost.
Southeastern took to Twitter to warn trains would run at a reduced speed through East Malling station after the 21-year-old refused to come down.
A spokesperson from the rail firm said: "I am sure that there are easier ways at looking at our departure screens than scaling a lamppost."
British Transport Police and Kent Police officers were both called to the scene.
A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "We were called at 11.07am on Friday regarding a reported disturbance at East Malling railway station.
"Patrols attended the scene to assist officers from the British Transport Police.
"A 21-year-old man of no fixed address was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in police custody while enquiries are ongoing."
Train services have returned to normal.
