'Burglar' due in court after bank card stolen in West Malling break-in

A suspected burglar is due in court todayafter a bank card was stolen from a house in West Malling and then used to buy tobacco and alcohol.
Officers were called to the scene of the break-in on Old Ryarsh Lane before discovering the stolen card had been used at shops in the West Malling and Maidstone areas.
Anthony Bashford was arrested on Wednesday and charged the following day with burglary and six counts of fraud and attempted fraud.
The 46-year-old of Ewell Avenue, West Malling was remanded in police custody and is to appear by video link before Medway Magistrates’ Court.
