A large number of emergency services were scrambled to a country park after reports two people were walking on a frozen lake.
Several fire crews, a rescue boat and ambulances were called to an area close to the A228 Malling Road, near Leybourne Lakes shortly after 1pm.
Police were joined by four fire engines around half an hour later, who assisted in searching the area.
Efforts were concentrated on a frozen body of water next to Brook Street, Snodland.
A helicopter, understood to be an HM Coastguard Search and Rescue aircraft from Lydd, could be seen circling a water source just north of the main lakes, close to Saltings Road.
It looked to be hovering over Nevill Park in Snodland – a green space near a housing development – as well as Brooklands lake.
The helicopter was making its way back to the south coast at around 4.20pm and other emergency services had left by 5pm.
A police spokesman said: "The searches have finished and there is no evidence to suggest anyone has entered the lake or come to any harm."
