"These are very sad circumstances and we are doing everything we can to work with the emergency services" - Southeastern spokesman
A spokesman for Southeastern Trains said: "These are very sad circumstances and we are doing everything we can to work with the emergency services.
"When something like this happens our first priority is to inform the British Transport Police and look after the passengers which are stuck on trains, as well as the driver because it is obviously a shocking incident for them."
London Buses will accept Southeastern ticket holders on all routes between Lewisham and St Mary Cray in both directions.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
