A driver tried to ram a police car in a bid to escape after being cornered at a petrol station.
Officers were called to Shay Service Station in Maidstone Road, Sutton Valence, after reports a car had been stolen from the forecourt.
Last Thursday (January 18) at around 8.40pm, officers identified a separate vehicle used by the suspects.
It was discovered the car had been cloned – a tactic used by criminals to steal or duplicate a registration plate.
The vehicle was followed to a Shell petrol station in Malling Road, Snodland, where officers came to a stop, using a manoeuvre to prevent an escape.
Police say the driver then tried to ram his way out, and a window was smashed.
Two men were arrested in connection with theft and burglary offences.
They are on bail pending further inquiries and will return to a police station on Saturday, April 13.
