It looks as though Jeremy the Easter lamb is going to pull through.
Jeremy, or 'Jezzy' for short, was taken in by FRIEND Animal Sanctuary in East Peckham after being found at death's door by the roadside five days ago.
The little lamb was freezing cold and unable to stand or even lift his head.
Sanctuary owners Mark Eaton and Mandy Wilkinson have tended to the helpless lamb round the clock and today report he is showing signs of recovery.
Mandy said: "Thank you for all your support for little Jezzy.
"He is getting stronger and most importantly he has started to take the bottle! We cannot begin to stress how important this is for his recovery... it took a lot of patience and we mean a lot!
"He has done so well already, we are feeling much more optimistic.
"It's an honor to be able to rescue and give sanctuary to the sick and vulnerable."
The couple thanked supporters who helped fundraise for Jezzy's continued care, adding: "Jezzy wouldn't have made it through that first night without help, he was so weak, so cold: he needed care urgently.
"Thank you for the outpouring of love for this little guy and to all our amazing supporters without whom we wouldn't be able to be there for him and all those who need us."
