Southern Water will begin carrying out emergency overnight works in Police Station Road, West Malling after concrete was poured into a sewer.
On Monday workers from the utility company will be digging up and replacing the system which serves more than 200 residents after specialist diamond cutting equipment shipped over from Germany was unable to shift the building material.
Building is expected to take two weeks to finish with no access between 8pm and 8am.
Road plates will be used to cover the excavation allowing vehicular access to Police Station Road for cars. Vans and lorries will not be permitted to access Police Station Road due to the risk of the road plates moving and causing an accident.
A team from Southern Water will be on hand to help manage traffic during the day.
Properties near the junction with Swan Street are expected to be hit by noise disruption while work is underway.
A spokesman said: "We understand how disruptive this ongoing work has been for residents and we would like to apologise unreservedly.
"However, it is imperative we complete this repair as quickly as possible in order to protect homes and restore residents' essential services to normal.
"We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while our crew work hard to fix this issue."
It is not known which third party is responsible for the damage.
As a result of the blockage, tankers have been visiting the road twice daily for the past month to ensure residents can still use their facilities.
