An animal charity will be celebrating its 200th birthday next month with a summer fair and dog show.
The RSPCA Leybourne Animal Centre in West Malling will host its annual “One Fun Day” with a nod to its milestone anniversary.
Kent families and animal lovers are invited to the event on Saturday, June 15 from 11am until 4pm.
The commemorative day will feature carnival rides, behind-the-scenes tours and a collection of classic cars on display.
Centre manager Darren Parrish said: “There will be activities that all the family can get involved in from ceramic painting to building bug hotels and learning how you can make your garden more wildlife-friendly.
“Our fun dog show is for every dog, no matter how big or small.
“We also have entertainment from [training school] Blackdogtan from 12.30 to 2pm and the dog arena has a packed schedule that's sure to make everyone smile.”
There will also be stalls selling chocolate-covered strawberries, handmade jewellery and paintings.
Tickets will cost £3.50 for adults, £2 for children and under 5s can go free.
If you are interested, you can buy them here, or on the day.
All the money raised will go towards paying for the care of all the animals at the centre.
Darren said: “It’s incredible to think that our charity has been helping animals for 200 years - making us the oldest animal welfare charity in the world.
“This is such an amazing feat and one that we can’t wait to celebrate with our supporters old and new at our one fun day event at Leybourne.
“We know the day will be one to remember and we can’t wait for people to join us in our celebrations.”
Organisers have also asked for more volunteers to help on the day – you can find more information here.
Donations of prizes for the tombola such as bottles and teddies are also welcomed – they can be dropped into the centre.
Or, email leybourne@rspca.org.uk to arrange giving alternative winning items.
