A family-run meze and grill has scooped top prize at the British Kebab Awards.
Alim-Et in the heart of Larkfield has a number of loyal customers including MP Tracey Crouch who voted for the restaurant and takeaway ahead of Monday's ceremony.
Thousands voted in favour of the London Road restaurant and they were crowned the best kebab shop outside London.
Manager Merve Carcabuk revealed it took months of hard work to reach where they are now.
She said: "We had been collecting votes from the beginning of February and Tracey Crouch voted for us.
"We never expected to win at such a big event; it was amazing. There were 20 to 30 MPs there and people from Just Eat.
"We worked hard for it. We nominated our restaurant because of the food, the location and the restaurant ambience.
"Our food is fresh every day. It is grilled but presented differently.
"Whoever comes to us ends up coming back again as regulars."
