Two suspected teenage burglars have appeared in court after a reportedly stolen car crashed with police.
The owner of a VW Polo called police at around 5am on Saturday and said his car had been stolen from Primrose Drive in Ditton, after the keys were taken during a burglary.
Around five minutes later, police spotted the car on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 and followed it onto the M25.
As the VW travelled into Essex, officers sought to stop the car, which followed a collision with two police vehicles before coming to a halt.
Two boys aged 16 and 17, both from Greater London, were arrested.
Officers also seized a screwdriver, balaclava, gloves, a set of car keys and a small bag of cannabis.
The teenagers were later charged with burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.
The 16-year-old was additionally charged with driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance, while the 17-year-old was also charged with possession of cannabis.
Both appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where they were remanded to a hearing at Medway Youth Court on April 28
