A Kent MP fighting cancer says she intends to 'max out on life' after celebrating the end of radiotherapy treatment.

Chatham and Aylesford's Tracey Crouch announced in June last year she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

After catching the disease early, the former sports minister has posted regular updates throughout her treatment on social media and even maintained a sense of humor when posting comments about shaving her head.

In her latest post, Ms Crouch, 45, shared a photo of herself outside the oncology department at Maidstone hospital, where she has been receiving treatment, shaking a bell emoji with virtual fireworks in celebration.

She added: "Ding ding ding... had my last radiotherapy and I'm all done.

"A massive thank you to the incredible team at MTW and my family/friends for their support throughout.

"Early diagnosis equals better outcomes so check your bits and bobbins and see a GP if you're worried. Off now to max out on life."

Health Secretary Matt Hancock replied saying: “Huge congratulations, Tracey. Absolutely delighted for you.”

As a dedicated Tottenham Hotspur supporter, Ms Crouch even received a video message from striker Harry Kane saying: "I just want to congratulate you on behalf of everyone at Tottenham Hotspur on your last day of treatment.

"You should be extremely proud of yourself, the courage you have shown has been truly amazing."

Since her diagnosis, Ms Crouch has used her platform as an MP to campaign for change and is calling for the breast cancer screening age to be lowered from 50 to 40.

She also hopes to make more medical professionals aware of the increasing number of younger women developing the disease.
