The opening date of a new Aldi store has been confirmed.
The discount supermarket will be opening its doors to customers in Kings Hill later this year, the company says.
Aldi have promised its new shop, which is set to open in November, will create up to 50 jobs and deal with the demand for cheaper shopping.
A spokesman said: “Construction for our new Kings Hill store is progressing well as we move towards opening in mid-November this year.
"This will create jobs for the community and enable local people to shop and save closer to home.”
The announcement comes 10 months after the planning permission was deferred after councillors expressed concern with traffic congestion.
The new store is part of a £16.2 million expansion and renovation programme of the company's existing stores across the county – including an overhaul of the Dartford store earlier this year and submitting plans for a second unit in Ashford.
Kings Hill already has two major supermarkets – Waitrose and Asda.
While the idea of another supermarket was been backed by some residents, Asda objected claiming that HGVs would struggle to navigate roads around the shop which will be located off Tower View between Warwick Way and Alexander Grove.
Despite this the plans for the German chain were approved in March.
Conditions surrounding the approval included the hours of the shops opening will be restricted to 07:00 - 22:00 Monday to Saturday and 10:00 - 17:00 on Sundays.
The committee report stated: "Since the deferral, the applicant has constructively engaged with officers in order to overcome members’ concerns.
"They have subsequently submitted amended plans and elevations of the building and additional details regarding renewable energy measures and on highways traffic assessments."
