A popular parkrun has been cancelled after a "serious incident" sparked a large emergency response.
Organisers of the weekly Malling parkrun called off the event at Leybourne Lakes Country Park, near Snodland, at 9pm last night.
Police say they were called to a "medical incident" about an hour earlier and joined ambulance crews at the scene.
In a statement posted online last night, organisers said: "Event cancelled due to a serious ongoing incident. Please stay away from the park."
In a follow-up post this morning, they added: "Reminder that we are cancelled today.
"We apologise in advance for anyone who doesn’t get the message in time.
"There will be a volunteer at the car park entrance to let people know and hopefully avoid unnecessary parking charges.
"We have no further information regarding the incident but we complied with the request from park managers to cancel on a precautionary basis."
Participants usually meet at 9am before taking on a 5km route.
