Police have charged a 14 year-old boy with criminal damage after a union flag was found burned in Kent.
The charred flag was found by Borough Green councillor Mike Taylor outside Borough Green library in October.
He reported the incident to police and handed over the damaged flag.
Kent Police said in a statement that they had carried out a proportional investigation and, after discussion with the CPS, the decision had been made to charge the youth.
The 14-year-old will appear before magistrates at Sevenoaks on Thursday, January 8, in relation to the charge.
A second 14-year-old and an 18-year-old have been given cautions.
