East Peckham: Police are investigating a suspicious fire in Hale Street

A police investigation has concluded that a fire which damaged a number of buildings and cars in East Peckham was not suspicious.
Firefighters were called to Hale Street at 5.19pm, to reports of a garage and workshop alight.
Crews entered the single-storey buildings wearing breathing apparatus and used water jets to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire, which also damaged several cars, was first thought to be suspicious.
Kent Police and fire service experts were called and the Environment Agency has also been informed.
There were no reported injuries.
Crews left the scene at 7.15pm.
