Some relief may be on its way to frustrated customers of Tonbridge town centre's Post Office.
The Post Office was made homeless by the closure of its former host WHSmith in July last year, and moved three months ago into temporary accommodation in Tonbridge Castle.
It was able to provide only a limited service, and internet connectivity problems and staff shortages has meant it has often been closed.
Now the Post Office is in negotiation to move to new permanent premises at 64 High Street, formerly home to The Beer Seller, not far from its original home.
Tonbridge and Malling leader Cllr Matt Boughton (Con) said: "This is an excellent step forward, though there is still some due diligence to be done, so the deal is not yet quite confirmed."
