The Poppyfields pub-restaurant in Aylesford is being given a fresh look and a fresh name.
After a short period of closure for renovation, the venue in St Laurence Avenue will re-open on Thursday, February 24, as The Fields at Aylesford.
It is designed to offer the atmosphere of a homely traditional country pub with an open fire and hand-crafted wall panelling, while offering cask ales, alongside a dedicated shelf of malt whiskeys, and an extensive wine list.
All the menus are also being revised.
Guests will be able to dine al fresco in one of the pub's two heated terraces, or in warmer weather take advantage of the large beer garden .
The first 300 guests to the restaurant after the official opening will receive a complimentary packet of wild-flower seeds, including poppies, with a note encouraging them to grow their own mini-meadow of wild flowers at home – in a nod to the Royal British Legion’s nerby poppy making factory and to help encourage pollinators and bees to the area.
The manager Andrew Barker said: “We can’t wait to see our regulars again as well as welcoming new guests to our local pub.
"The new look and feel inside and out is fantastic and I personally can’t wait to introduce everyone to our brand-new food and drinks menu as well as our new, personalised service style."
