Police chase ends in arrest of suspected car thief after car failed to stop on Snodland bypass

A suspected car thief was arrested after failing to stop for police.
Officers gave chase after a black Vauxhall Astra did not stop on the Snodland bypass.
This happened at around 10.35am on Saturday.
After colliding with a vehicle in Malling Road, the car was found abandoned in a car park off Snodland Road around 15 minutes later.
Following a search, a 28-year-old man from Orpington was arrested in Bull Lane at 10.55am on suspicion of several driving offences.
He was also arrested on suspicion of stealing a different car from St Peter’s Road, Ditton, at around 2.40pm on Friday.
The suspect remains in custody as enquiries continue.
