A town centre was plunged into chaos this morning - thanks to a giant swimming pool.
The driver of an articulated lorry was attempting to deliver the pool to its new owner when it got stuck in West Malling High Street.
Several attempts to manoeuvre it into Swan Street failed and the busy town centre became a virtual no-go area for at least 45 minutes.
Initially, shoppers gathered to watch the mid-morning drama, but as time passed by it became more of an obstacle than a spectacle.
One shopkeeper, who did not wish to be named, told KentOnline shortly before midday: "It started off as a bit of a novelty, but now it's just chaos and we are losing business.
"I've been told the pool was going to a house in Swan Street. Let's hope the owner lets us have a go in it when this is sorted out."
She added: "Some men in hi-vis jackets have arrived and said it will be sorted out in about 10 minutes.
"But, at the moment we don't exactly know how."
