Two suspects have been bailed following a "prolonged and violent" assault on a man close to a railway station.
The alleged assault took place on Station Road in Aylesford on Monday morning and saw a man kicked and punched in view of pupils making their way to school.
Police were called to the incident shortly after 8am and the victim, believed to be known to his suspected assailants, was taken to a local hospital with multiple injuries.
A 38-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were subsequently arrested in connection with the assault.
Both have been bailed until April 12 pending further inquiries.
DS Joe Stas, of the West Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, said: "This was a prolonged and violent assault which may have been seen by a number of people, including pupils on their way to school.
"We are appealing to any witnesses, who may have important information and possibly footage on their phones, to contact us.
"We are also asking drivers to check their dashcams for any footage which may assist the investigation. It is reported the suspects travelled to the scene in a grey BMW X3 and a silver Ford Mondeo."
