A Kent company has become one of the UK’s oldest foodservice wholesalers after celebrating its 60th birthday.
Kff, based in Mills Road, Aylesford, originally started as a local family business and has developed into a nationwide supplier.
The company provides more than 4,500 fresh and frozen products to pubs, restaurants and cafés across the south east.
In recent years, they have also increased their range of locally sourced products, working with 'Produced in Kent' to promote the diversity and quality of the country's food and drink.
Stef and Gareth Smith run Eden Bakes in Edenbridge High Street, as well as delivering sweet and savoury treats direct to companies in the area.
The couple said: “We’ve been a kff customer for many years and it’s great to work with a like-minded local company.
"We have high standards, which is why our customers love our food, so we expect a lot from kff and they continue to deliver day in and day out.”
In 2018, the Kent company was bought out by Sysco – the world’s largest foodservice distributor from America.
However, kff continues to operate as an independent business, employing more than 270 people across two sites, with its main distribution hub and head office in Aylesford and a second depot in Oxford.
Managing director Phillip White said: “The kff business has been built on providing Kent foodservice businesses, whether that’s hotels, restaurants, pubs or any venue serving food with a first-class service and the support they need.
"Kff’s long-standing reputation for quality has been the cornerstone of its success over the past 60 years and we look forward to continuing to deliver the best Kent food available for the next 60 years!”
