Maxi Priest, General Levy, and The Marley Experience to perform at Uptown Festival at Rochester Castle

The new organisers of a summer festival in the grounds of an historic Kent landmark have revealed a number of acts joining the bill.
The Uptown Festival is being staged at Rochester Castle on July 7.
Among the acts confirmed for the line-up are Maxi Priest, General Levy and The Marley Experience.
Teasing the identity of the headliners, the organisers have simply said “U will B amazed” – leading many to speculate that UB40 will be added to the bill.
The headline act will be announced on February 28.
Uptown Festival is part of the Castle Live series run by The Festival Company, which has replaced the previous Castle Concerts staged at the historic fortress on the banks of the Medway.
The Castle Concerts had been criticised by music fans in recent years.
The Festival Crowd has run similar events around the UK, including KISSTORY, Uptown Festival, Downton and Superboxx.
London-born reggae vocalist Maxi Priest scored a string of hits in the 1980s and 1990s, and has previously been nominated in the Best Reggae Album category at the Grammy Awards.
UB40 ft Ali Campbell are no strangers to Kent, having performed at the Margate Summer Series at Dreamland last year and at previous concerts at Rochester Castle.
