A young adventurer has completed a mammoth trip down the Thames.
Lauren Richardson, eight, of Vidgeon Avenue, Hoo, has paddled 200 miles along the river in a kayak with her dad Kevin.
Lauren has been taking lots of photos, writing a blog each day and collecting items from along the river.
Kevin said: “The boat doesn’t get any lighter as Lauren keeps loading it up with fossils and pottery.”
Last year, Lauren and her dad attempted a 135-mile Thames adventure, but were defeated by appalling weather.
They managed 62 miles before halting for safety reasons, as Lauren was showing signs of hypothermia.
However, they did complete the trip a few weeks later.
Dad Kevin said: “During that trip, Lauren said that she wanted to raise money so that other children can do adventures too.”
Lauren is raising money for the charity Widehorizons Trust which runs activity centres for children. To sponsor her, visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/KevinRichardson1
