Chatham: Armed police descend on Asda car park

Armed police converged on the Asda superstore in Chatham just after midnight this morning.
Two men were arrested in the car park and two air guns were seized at about 12.15am.No injuries were reported.
An eye witness said that officers had guns pointed at three people and lasers were shone on the suspects near the supermarket petrol station in Maidstone Road.
He added that there were two BMWs, five police cars as well as a marked Volvo and unmarked Volvo police vehicle.
The 24-hour store was open as normal for business today. A senior member of staff would not comment on the incident.
Asda head office has been contacted for a comment.
Police said they were called at 11.20pm yesterday.
