Two men have been arrested after armed police stopped a car on the M2.
The vehicle, suspected of being linked to drug dealing in the county, was spotted on the motorway in the early hours of this morning.
Traffic and firearms officers were involved in carrying out what has been described as a "proactive stop" near junction 3 for Blue Bell Hill at about 12.10am.
The passenger, a 28-year-old man from Herne Hill, London, was wanted on warrant for failing to appear at court and was arrested. He remains in police custody.
The driver, a 34-year-old man from Chatham, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
His car was seized and has been released from custody pending further investigation.
