Arrest after man found with serious injuries in Chatham High Street

A man remains in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault.
Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident near Chatham town centre yesterday (April 1).
Officers were called to a property in Chatham High Street shortly before 5pm, where a man was found with injuries.
He is said to have been attacked between 11am and 2pm in Magpie Hall Road, near the junction with Newnham Street.
The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 53-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been taken into custody.
He was later bailed until June 18, pending further investigation.
Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are now appealing for witnesses in a bid to help their investigation.
Drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV in the area are also being asked to check for relevant footage.
