Man with head injuries still in hospital a week after he was assaulted in Rochester High Street

A man is still in hospital with a head injury a week after a group of people approached and assaulted him in Rochester High Street.

Officers investigating have made one arrest on suspicion of assault.

The 23-year-old man from Sittingbourne was arrested today and remains in custody.

The 28-year-old victim was left unable to talk and with a bleed on his brain after he was punched on Saturday, January 25.

His brother, Sam Barguss, 30, said he was set upon by three men in an unprovoked attack near The Jolly Knight and Kings Head hotel.

Investigating officers are still appealing for people who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
