Two people were arrested and a further two detained after a car that had been reported stolen was spotted “driving dangerously” across town before crashing.
Officers witnessed a suspicious silver Citroen Picasso in Wyndham Road, Chatham, and required it to stop on April 24 at 3.20pm.
The driver failed to do so, and following a short pursuit, the car came to a halt in Albany Road after crashing into other vehicles.
Officers arrested a man and a woman and later detained two further men.
The woman and two of the men were released on bail pending further investigation.
The third man remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
Investigating officer, PC Andrew Day, said: “The car pursued by the patrol is alleged to have been driven in a dangerous manner and collided with other vehicles before it came to a halt.
“We are appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident to contact our appeal line.’
