Chatham: rubbish blaze in Slicketts Hill is suspected arson attack

Police are investigating a suspected arson attack outside a tyre shop in Chatham.
Firefighters were called to tackle a rubbish blaze at the back of the building in Slicketts Hill just before 9pm last night.
External fittings of the building were damaged in the blaze, including a door and guttering.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to put out the flames and had left the scene by 9.40pm.
Teams alerted police to the incident "due to possible suspicious ignition".
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a report that rubbish was set alight in The Brook, Chatham.
"At present no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
