Chatham manager Alex O’Brien was left disappointed with his side’s second-half display at Ashford on Saturday.
After a promising first 45 minutes, Chatham lost their way to end the Ryman League, Division 1 South season with a 2-1 defeat and 17th place in the table.
O’Brien, pictured, said: "We did the right things in the first half. We upped our tempo, got the ball and passed it well. We put crosses in and always looked dangerous, but it’s been the story of our season that we don’t take our chances."
Ashford took a seventh-minute through Mark Lovell, but Chats levelled seven minutes later when John Wilfort headed in at the far post after Ashley Probets’ corner. Tom Murphy scored Ashford's winner after the break.
