Attempted robbery in Strood

Two men have been arrested following an attempted robbery at a newsagents in Strood.
Police were called to the store in Bligh Way at around 9.30am today after a man tried unsuccessfully to grab a cashbox from a security guard outside the premises.
Two people made off empty-handed in a silver Audi A6. The car they were driving had been reported stolen during a burglary at a house in Croydon on April 20.
A 34-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Peckham in south-east London, were later arrested near junction two of the M2 at Strood. They are currently in police custody being questioned by detectives.
