The Zac Schulze Gang decided to create their own festive track featuring the trio's favourite hangout spots and iconic places across Medway.

A Medway Christmas

Zac Schulze who is from Gillingham said: "It has been a bit mental. I think it is great. The amount of positive comments we have received, I think people are loving it.

"It came from an idea a couple of weeks ago. I was in my local pub and said to the lads 'do you know what would be good? To have a song all about Medway'."

The band spent four to five hours recording their hopeful hit at the Magpie Studios and then another two days videoing across Medway at their favourite places including the iconic Thomas Waghorn statue, MidKent College campus and Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre amongst others.

The 21-year-old added: "A lot of people can relate to the video. It is nice to see some people who have lived in Medway previously say it brings back a lot of memories."

The Christmas single will also be raising money for Medway Food Bank which the Schulze brothers help deliver for through donations and profits the track makes. Zac said: "It is at Christmas that people are going to need it the most."

And one Gillingham health worker and DJ, Kamal Rahman, has expressed his support to the up-and-coming band throwing his support to make the track Christmas number one.

He said: "I appreciate their efforts. What this gang has done is completely original. It is quite emotional. I am by their side."

He added his support to the band and their efforts at fundraising saying "it is a selfless act" from a group of young guys.

The Zac Schulze Gang includes lead guitarist and vocals by Zac, bass guitarist and vocals by Ant Greenwell, 23, and drums and vocals by Zac's brother Ben Schulze, 24, all who are from and live in Gillingham.

The single also features the band's mates Lee Gosney on the harmonica and Leon Simmons on the tambourine.

The band only formed this year in Gillingham but have been performing across the county with a mixture of up-tempo blues, rock and pop originals and covers ranging from the 50s to present.

They have performing in pubs across Medway and Maidstone with a regular slot at The Ship Inn, Gillingham on Sundays.

Their Christmas single will be available to stream on all platforms on December 10.

You can donate to their fundraiser here and find more about the group via their social media.

Since the music video has been released on December 4 they have raised more than £400.
