In a bizarre crime somebody broke into a car to steal a football jacket and some CDs.
On Sunday, September 27, Jonathan Inkpen went out to his car in Palmerston Road, Chatham, at about 9.30pm to find the window of his Vauxhall Zafira had been smashed in.
After a search he realised they had taken his personalised football jacket for Erith and Belvedere football club, where he was a manager for the youth team last year.
The black zip-up puffer-style coat is Adidas and bears the iconic three white stripes down the arms.
It is unmistakable, as it emblazoned with a large ‘JI’ on the breast.
Although not hugely expensive, it has sentimental value for Mr Inkpen and he is keen to get it back.
As well as the smashed window, the culprit had also taken the fuse box off, and rooted through everything inside.
But it is believed they may have been disturbed, as the perpetrator made off without having taken a pot of change or the stereo.
Police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should call 101.
