The bomb squad has been called to a residential street this morning.
Officers and police went to a house in Nelson Road, in Gillingham, after suspected wartime munitions were found just after 8am.
A helicopter was heard circling the area but police said this was not related.
Spokesman James Walker said: "Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts from the Ministry of Defence were also called to the scene, as a pre-caution.
"Inquiries are ongoing and, at present, no threats to public safety have been identified."
Police were seen leaving the address just before 1pm.
