A nature reserve was sealed off by police after children reported finding bones which turned out to be the remains of an animal.
Police were called to Berengrave Nature Reserve in Rainham, just before 6pm today.
Children had called 999 after finding some bones and feared it was the remains of a body.
Witnesses reported seeing several police cars and a forensic team on the scene and the entrance to the park in Berengrave Lane was cordoned off by officers.
The incident led to reports on social media that a body had been found but police have confirmed the bones were in fact belonging to an animal.
A spokesman for the force said: "Kent Police was called to Berengrave Lane, Rainham, to reports some children believed they had found some bones. These were determined to be animal bones."
