Two balaclava-clad armed robbers are being hunted after raiding a village store last night.
The man, who were brandishing hand guns, struck at the shop in Borstal Street, Rochester, shortly after 7pm yesterday.
It is not thought any staff at the Borstal Self Service shop were injured during the raid, but the robbers ran off on foot.
They are believed to have got away with a small amount of cash from the till, heading off in the direction of Manor Lane.
Police carried out searches of the area and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Martin Carter said: "I’m in no doubt this incident will have had a serious effect on the victim, something that robbers clearly did not care about.
"Someone, somewhere will know who carried out this robbery at a local community shop – if you have any information, no matter how small you might think it is, I’d urge you to get in contact with us."
If anyone has any information, call DC Carter on 01634 792517 quoting reference XY/36004/13. Alternatively contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
