Chatham teenager in court over mobile phone and e-scooter ‘robberies’ in Wood Street and Canterbury Street, Gillingham

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court after another boy was allegedly threatened and had his e-scooter stolen.
The teenager from Chatham, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 10).
He faced charges of two robberies and an attempted robbery.
On Sunday, October 6 a boy was approached in Canterbury Street, in Gillingham when his e-scooter was allegedly taken following threats he would be hurt.
It follows another incident on August 2, when two teenagers were threatened in Wood Street, Gillingham.
It is reported one of them had their mobile phone stolen.
The suspect appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court, sitting as a youth court, where he was bailed to appear at the same court on October 31.
