Man arrested after car crashes into two parked cars in Lonsdale Drive, Rainham

A suspected drink driver was arrested following a collision into two parked cars.
These pictures from late last night show the damage to some of the vehicles affected in Lonsdale Drive, Rainham.
The images show police and neighbours stood out in the street watching the aftermath, some appear to be wearing nightwear.
The bonnet of a red car was completely smashed open and the boot of a white car was destroyed.
An eye witness said “He tried to run away but neighbours stopped him and didn't let him go.
"It's believed his girlfriend was in the car."
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called at 10.27pm on Friday 9 August 2019 to a collision involving a car and two parked vehicles.
"Officers attended the scene and arrested a 31-year-old man from Gillingham on suspicion of failing to provide a roadside breath test and possessing a class A drug.
"He remains in custody as enquiries continue."
The man has since been released pending further inquiries.
