Lower Rainham Road closed for emergency repairs by Southern Water

A busy road has been closed for emergency repairs.
Medway Highways has warned motorists that Lower Rainham Road in Rainham is shut in both directions.
The closure is between Station Road and Berengrave Lane.
It is due to emergency works by Southern Water.
Medway Council said the road is due to re-open tomorrow.
Parts of Rainham town centre were gridlocked this morning as drivers had to find alternative routes while the M2 was closed.
There was queuing traffic on the A2, Lower Rainham Road and Beechings Way.
