Car crashes through window in Bligh Way, Strood

A silver Peugeot came off the road, crashed through a wall and into the front window of a home.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon in Bligh Way, Strood, near its junction with Fulmar Road.

Fire crews were called to the crash at 5.15pm. However, the driver had managed to get out the car before they arrived.

Ambulance services checked the driver over at the scene and they were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital as a precaution.

Police checked the house but no casualties were reported and the house seemed to be empty when they searched it.

A lady who lives in Bligh Way said: "There was a large crowd of young people outside.

"It must've come from Fulmar Road, judging by the direction of the crash.

"There was a great big bang when it happened.

"The car was removed at about midnight."

The windows and doors of the house have since been boarded up.
