Jeffery Street in Gillingham closed after car crashes into telegraph pole

Jeffery Street in Gillingham is closed in both directions so a telegraph pole can be fixed after car ploughed into it.
The crash happened at about 6am this morning and according the the police, the driver was not injured.
However, the road has been closed to allow investigation work at the site to be done and to allow the pole to be secured.
It is understood crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also called out to the scene to help make the pole safe.
The road is closed between James Street and Skinner Street and traffic is said to be coping well in the area.
