One eyewitness claimed two men were in the car as it sped around the top of the road, hitting another car.

They then allegedly jumped out, letting the car roll down the hill and into the fence, before running off.

Police spokesman Andy Saunders said: "A car was left at the scene and inquiries are ongoing to locate the driver who left on foot."

More as we get it.
