Caravan crash near Blue Bell Hill on Maidstone-bound A229 carriageway causing delays

A crash involving a caravan caused long delays near a busy roundabout this morning.
The Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A229 near Blue Bell Hill, Chatham, is partially blocked and there is queueing traffic at B2097 Rochester Road by Lord Lees roundabout.
It comes after a collision between a car towing a caravan and another vehicle.
There are reports of congestion around the interchange and smaller routes towards Gillingham.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 7.28am.
“Officers are currently at the scene where no injuries have been reported and arrangements are underway to recover the caravan.”
One motorist said the incident meant a trip from Walderslade to Aylesford took them 50 minutes this morning.
Police have been contacted for more information.
