Gym-goers were told to leave a fitness club this morning after a fire broke out in a changing room.
Firefighters were called to the gym in Rainham High Street, which is believed to be the Reynolds Fitness Spa, at around 8am after a blaze was reported in the female changing room.
One member of the crew who attended from Chatham said a toilet had been "completely destroyed" but everyone had been accounted for.
A spokesman from the fire service said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in the ground floor female changing room of a health and fitness club in the High Street, Rainham.
"All visitors and staff were accounted for, as the venue was safely evacuated. Crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and main jet to tackle the fire."
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and the incident came to an end just after 9am.
The gym has been closed for the rest of the day with a note placed on the front gates informing customers.
